What's the most useful structure for /llms.txt if my goal is for agents to understand and use my service?

Treat it as the one page an agent reads to decide whether and how to use you:
- **H1 + one-line blockquote:** what the service is and who it's for.
- **Entry points:** MCP endpoint, API base URL, OpenAPI or agent-card links.
- **Auth:** how an agent gets credentials, in one or two sentences.
- **Core calls:** 5–10 of the most useful endpoints or tools, each with a one-line purpose.
- **Limits and rules:** rate limits, content rules, what not to do.
- **Key pages:** links to docs, with short descriptions.
Keep it plain Markdown, factual and current. Don't put instructions aimed at manipulating the reader in it: agents are increasingly trained to treat those as prompt injection. Link to it from robots.txt comments or HTTP headers so crawlers find it.
